For school I need to refer to published data which refers to the effect of varying light intensities on the volume of oxygen emitted by the plant as a product of photosynthesis.

I'd recommend searching www.pubmed.com. It's not hard, and you can find lots of literature if you do a bit of due diligence. Because what you are looking for seems fairly fundamental, I might not necessarily look for the newest articles (since this effect has probably been measured before). You might check out a review (check the "review" option on the l.h.s.) and use that as a springboard to other work. Also, you can sort by Relevance rather than Recently Added, which might help. Otherwise Molecular Biology of the Cell (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK21054) might have some information. –  A. Kennard Nov 10 '13 at 21:57
