I want to do validation on simulated net primary productivity. But I don't have measured NPP data, Eddy covariance flux measurement data. I have only field measurement biomass data. So can I directly use this biomass data to check correlation between NPP and biomass? I found a paper that used biomass data directly for validation process, but I'm still confused about it.

Hi and welcome to the site. It might be useful to readers to include the reference or a link to the paper you read. –  kmm May 8 '13 at 20:08
What model are you using to predict NPP? What other variables does it predict? How frequent are the biomass measures? does it predict above and belowground NPP separately? You can only compare apples to apples. –  David Jun 6 '13 at 5:26
