I found this bug in my apartment in Chicago. We had bed bugs in our house the previous year (but we thought we got rid of them). This bug was very small - maybe 2 millimeters in length. These photos are all of the very same bug (just different lighting).

Can you smell almonds? Bud bugs have a distinctive smell usually described as being "like almonds". –  Jack Aidley Aug 9 '13 at 10:34

I'll give it a shot, but note that I'm not entirely certain: It's a juvenile bed bug, first stage larva. The size description and the general habitus fit, as well as the white color.

i'd say he got it right - better photo here: bedbugger.com/photos-of-bed-bugs-and-signs-of-bed-bugs I hear there are now drugs you can take that kill the bedbugs when they bite you, which might work better... –  shigeta Aug 8 '13 at 19:55
