I had my DNA tested by 23andme.com. They give me a very long string for my DNA. How do I determine which of the three Ethiopian valleys I descended from? I'm of European descent.

There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format. Please add details to narrow the answer set or to isolate an issue that can be answered in a few paragraphs. Does 23andme sequence the whole DNA? I thought they were only looking for specific SNPs. Anyway, maybe this can answer part of your questions customercare.23andme.com/forums/20881310-Maternal-Paternal-Line –  nico Aug 12 '13 at 10:44

I take it you logged into the 23andme site and looked at your data there?

They have a pretty good geographical plot of where you came from.

Are you looking for more detail than that? You might try the National Geographic Genographic Project.
