Histone deacetylase (HDAC) is a family of enzymes (the known members of which are currently numbered 1-11) that play key roles in gene expression. They seem to play key roles in:
- Tumorigenesis
Various protein's expression.
These include:
- The androgen receptor
- The glucocorticoid receptor
- Heat shock protein 90 (HSP90)
- α-Tubulin
and many others
HIV latency
and other processes of biologic significance.
