Is DNA mutation locally energetically stabilizing the DNA molecule
Thanks for your answer. If the DNA molecule is locally destabilized by a spontaneous mutation, the odds for an other spontaneous mutation to restore the stability locally are greater and that should slow evolution to a standstill if only spontaneous mutation were to be considered.
