comment Proteins that are strongly overproduced in E. coli and S. cerevisiae?
Definitely agree. HSP70 is produced in gigantic quantities especially during recombinant protein expression in E. coli. You can get rid of HSP70 by doing a pulldown with denatured protein and ATP.

comment How to DIY preserve pet DNA today so that it can be used in 20 years
Freezing in TE buffer might also help (10 mM Tris pH 8, 1mM EDTA). If you have a biologist friend, I'm sure you can get him or her to let you "borrow" some.

comment How long is DNA stable in a freezer?
It depends on your concentration. More concentrated DNA is more stable.

comment Is there any difference in terms of personal healthcare between complete DNA sequencing and SNPs genotyping?
Our group does Whole Exome Sequencing. While not as exhaustive as whole genome sequencing, it does offer more coverage than SNP genotyping and can provide more useful data.

comment Why does the T7 RNA Polymerase require a reducing environment ie. DTT
@Aleadam Yeah, that is the sad case. I honestly don't understand the concept of copyrighting human knowledge.
