comment Why hasn't mother nature made us aware of our lizard brain?
-1 mother nature does not evolve us. That is a religious rather than a scientific view

comment How high is the energy yield of photovoltaics compared to photosynthesis?
I don't think either could meet domestic energy requirements alone, at least not in the near future. Your question could be improved with better definitions; it still says "converting", without saying to what. See, for example, quantum efficiency and quantum yield.

Does energy used to evaporate water count? Or the energy required to physically transport water from the soil to the air? PV cells don't evaporate or transport water. These are not accounted for in standard measures of quantum efficiency.

comment How high is the energy yield of photovoltaics compared to photosynthesis?
Your question could use some clarification. As stated, the premise is wrong because neither leaves nor PV cells produce energy. They can capture or store energy, they can also reflect or absorb and release energy. What pools or fluxes of energy are you interested in comparing? a common comparison is "quantum efficiency", but it is not clear if this is the comparison that you are looking for.

comment What would be the best dredging/trawling tools to collect macrofaunal priapulids?
The Ecology listserve (ECOLOG-L@listserv.umd.edu) would be a good bet to find expert responses to such a question; it would be useful to reference this question if you were to post there.

comment Is there a good field methods book that covers terrestrial ecology?
I'd be curious to know if the book I suggested (Methods in Ecosystem Science) meets your needs, or if you find an alternative.

comment Online course on Plant Taxonomy and Physiology
What other science courses have you taken? What are your goals? It sounds like a general botany course that touches on these subjects would be a good place to start.

these are traditionally taught separately, unless the class were to address the relationship between these topics.

comment Which concentration of BSA is recommended for dynamic light scattering experiments?
Needs more context. What is your goal? What have you tried? What references have you consulted?

comment Is it better to take a half dose of paracetamol and a half dose of ibuprofen together rather than a full dose of either?
It would help your point to remove the personal anectdote

comment Do trees really get a large share of their mass from the carbon in the air?
If increasing CO2 increases plant growth, then CO2 by definition limits plant growth. Your answer is good and but the limitation of plant growth is more complex than implied.

comment What is an simple way to burn glucose for visible effect?
You need to define "burn". In this context, it sounds like a synonym for "oxidize"

Or put it in a balloon and watch the balloon inflate as the bread is converted to co2 by microbes
