@MadScientist from within a script running outside of PyMol?

@leonardo some sort of manual hack like that may work (as mapmask seems to expand a little anyway), but doesn't seem that optimal. I'll beat on this for a while and let you know what I come up with.

comment Why have humans evolved much more quickly than other animals?
I don't understand your last question; evolution is largely directed by genetics, a modified organ doesn't pass itself along (just as amputees don't have limbless children).

@MatthewPatrickCashatt it seems like you're coming at it from a fairly anthropocentric view which stoicfury is trying to address

comment Why is a lack of oxygen fatal to cells?
You're being a bit anthropocentric, plenty of organisms get on fine without, some are even harmed by free oxygen. :P

comment Do mitochondria simply automatically convert glucose to ATP?
Mitochondria only have a handful of genes; their regulation is utterly intertwined with their host. Additionally, only the TCA (Krebs, Citric Acid...) cycle occurs within mitochondria; glycolysis occurs in the cytosol.

comment How do I get the current “camera position” in PyMol so I can reuse it in scripts?
Ah, I guess if I translated the "command line/interactive form" of the commands into the API version, I should have also kept those parenthesis that get_view returns so they're really nested (so you do pass it a tuple). Would look like cmd.set_view((1,2,3...))
