What exothermic reaction distinguishes warm blooded animals? Kind of like why resistors get hot (though with them, it's electron traffic)? |

Where does the 'C' in exhaled CO2 mostly come from? Duh, I just realized it's probably mostly from leftovers after the sugars that you eat are burned for energy. I've also heard that broken-down fat from weight-losers gets breathed out. Is that at all true? |

Advice on Cell Biology texts by Alberts Nice answer. Unrelated to the content of the answer, I was wondering how you created that spoiler that only showed text when one rolls the mouse over it. |

Is there any documented evidence for suicide among vertebrates other than humans? From Wikipedia: "It is not a mass suicide, but the result of their migratory behavior. Driven by strong biological urges, some species of lemmings may migrate in large groups when population density becomes too great. Lemmings can swim and may choose to cross a body of water in search of a new habitat. In such cases, many may drown if the body of water is so wide as to stretch their physical capability to the limit. This fact, combined with the unexplained fluctuations in the population of Norwegian lemmings, gave rise to the misconception." Misconception. |

Is there a correlation between incidence of type 1 diabetes and vitiligo? This article ( ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16477262 ) talks about co-occurrence of type 1 diabetes with other autoimmune diseases, but not the autoimmune disease vitiligo. |
