Effect of doubling volumes of PCR reagents But presumably, @Armatus used different thermocyclers and he entered the appropriate volume of the sample in the thermocycler options. |

Effect of doubling volumes of PCR reagents Could you attach a picture of the gel? Also, how many times was this experiment repeated? I have used different volumes many times with no difference in efficiency (but with Phusion polymerase) |

What is the difference between SOLiD, 454, and Illumina next-gen sequencing? @MattDMo Yeah, it was pasted from an essay/review which I wrote for next generation sequencing. I will add the references. |

Can compounds be predicted from Polyketide synthases gene clusters? Each module adds a two (not three) carbon extender unit to the growing polyketide chain. Pleas correct it in your text. |

Recombinant protein fraction in E. coli I also had a feeling that the protein concentration should be more uniform, especially for the same protein (GFP in this case). I also imagined it would not be lower than 40%..... |

How are the boundaries of a gene determined? @ghchinoy Yes, that could be interesting, but I don't think it is more complicated than I already explained to Richard. You can of course add a few more "checks" the software can do, like the length of the ORF. |
