comment Why do smaller mammals move intermittently?
Human soldiers do it, too. And many animals live in what amounts to a war zone.

comment Are there any papers arguing against vaccination in French?
@AliceD: I tried another version that states why am trying to give the OP what he needs rather than what he seems to be asking for.

comment Are there any papers arguing against vaccination in French?
@terdon: That would actually be my strategy: find many credible sources arguing against several specific vaccinations, and paint the pro-vaccination crowd as zealots trying to stuff vaccines down everybody's veins.

@AliceD: I reverted some of your changes to keep the original meaning of my post. If you feel the first paragraph remains problematic, I'd rather take it out completely.

comment How do minute changes in an organism, as a result of evolution, get carried over to next generation
The two other forces of evolution are drift and meiotic drive. Michael Lynch fairly convincingly argues that complexity rarely if at all originates from natural selection.

@GerganaVandova: If the HGP can track down RP11, or any other of the chosen donors, then they did a poor job at anonymizing the donors and might be sued for that. With Celera, who knows who might know? I'd almost bet that Venter was one of the five; I guess it may be possible to try and find out by aligning the Celera genome to the Venter genome.

@GerganaVandova: Please follow the Wikipedia link. If you want original references, have a look at References 17-21.

@Daniel Standage: I have expanded my solution to hopefully better address your point.

X inactivation is not due to DNA methylation but does impact gene regulation without touching the DNA sequence. Also, the inheritance of the location of the centromere would not fall under your definition, so what kind of mark would that be?
