The reason for the down-vote was that a great answer existed already and, judging by the up-votes garnered by that answer, it seems validated. This is how the Stack Exchange sites work. I lose points if I vote your answer down, but it was important that I did so for the sake of ensuring that the most appropriate answer to the question remains at the top. It's nothing personal. I found your insight, quotes, point-of-view, etc interesting, just not a direct answer to the question. |

Why have humans evolved much more quickly than other animals? -1. While I appreciate your contribution, it completely misses the mark in answering the simple question. There was no assumption or innuendo in my question. The premise was simple: as a species, humans have clearly evolved a set of cognitive abilities and motivators that have lead to technological feats. By comparison, I do not know of any termites that purchase Trane AC systems for their homes or pilot jet aircraft. My question pertained to the "why" behind that. bobthejoe has provided the best answer to that question. I am voting this answer down because it is tangential. |
