Hello!

I am self-learning mathematics at the moment. My interest on mathematics was completely destroyed in high-school, after years ignoring it I've discovered it's interesting and beautiful. Now I'm planning to study it on university and even pursue a masters and a Ph.D! Yay!

I am very grateful for your $Time \cup Patience \cup Answers$. If my question is too stupid, blame these answerers.

If you want to talk, you can e-mail me: $gioxis@gmail \cdot com$

What is a Mathematician?

There are two popular guesses to what a mathematician is, and one popular conception of what a philosopher is.

Mathematician:

  1. A Mathematician is an incredible human calculator;
  2. A Mathematician is someone that deals with surreal-utopian levels of reality;

Philosopher:

  1. A philosopher is a semi-stoned dude who speculates about how the world would be if eggs had hair.

If you believe the second conception of what a mathematician is, then these are working philosophers of mathematics!

I am also a pseudo musician, I study piano and I used to make music with my computer.

Old stuff

New stuff

comment Is there a way to measure the amount of bytes that are possible to encode in a DNA molecule?
This is the answer. I was just confused to the real ammount of data - because of the genetic redundancy.

I was thinking about another environmental condition where it could happen, but I have no idea if such a thing would be possible.

I've found also a book on astrobiology, but still don't know if it's gonna be useful.

I've thought about asking this on Skeptics, But I believed here would be a more adequate place.
