Feb 5, 2015 at 21:11 comment added jerepierre Keep in mind that there's a selection bias issue here: If a cat falls out the window and dies, it's unlikely the owner takes it to the vet. Also, if a cat falls out the window and doesn't look hurt, the owner doesn't take it to the vet. This was explored on the podcast/radio show Radio Lab: radiolab.org/story/102525-vertigo

Feb 5, 2015 at 8:53 comment added AliceD @WYSIWYG: the Nature paper is linked in the answer. The other one (5-stories falling kitties in Am Vet Med Assoc) was brought up by anongoodnurse and she should hopefully be able to link it in the question edits.
Feb 5, 2015 at 6:33 comment added WYSIWYG @ChrisStronks can you add the link to that article?

Feb 5, 2015 at 5:13 comment added anongoodnurse @ChrisStronks - in a study of 132 cats falling from an average height of 5.5 stories (most: 32 stories), about 2/3 required some sort of medical treatment as a result of their fall, and about half of those that required treatment (1/3 of the total cats brought in) would have died without medical aid.
Feb 5, 2015 at 4:40 comment added AliceD I edited the question and vote for re-opening. The reason for question closure (unclear what you are asking) is not applicable any longer as it is edited. The question subject has been hardly researched and pretty interesting.
