Oct 24, 2012 at 16:29 comment added shigeta Thanks for pointing this study out, though don't you think it would be suprising if every codon for isoleucine in a bacterium were substituted for leucine that the bacteria lived? Not sure it would make it as there are often single cases where an otherwise innocuous particular amino acid was important.
