I have been hearing from a lot of people that putting phone on the ear while talking can cause brain tumor. But I also studied in my physics class that phones emit non-ionizing radiation i.e. they do not have enough energy to rip the electrons out of the atoms and hence the probability of having a brain tumor due to the non-ionizing radiation emitted from phones is extremely low. So, is it just a myth that putting your phone on the ear while calling is harmful? Or is it really true? Can someone please explain? Also does putting your phone near you while you are sleeping cause diseases?

$\begingroup$ If any of these things were a known issue don't you think you'd be hearing about it from someplace more reliable than rumors? I think this type of question is not a great fit here. Similar questions have been asked and answered at Skeptics.SE but at least they require you to provide some notable claim rather than just rumors and whispers. $\endgroup$ – Bryan Krause Jul 13 at 4:39
