Trichoderma reesei breaks down cellulose into beta and alpha glucose by secreting cellulases. Why do they produce far more glucose then they need when incubated with susbtrate?

  • $\begingroup$ Are you asking why Trichoderma secretes more enzyme than is needed to produce sufficient glucose for metabolism? Do you have a citation to bolster that claim? $\endgroup$
