The PV92 locus may contain an ALU- SINE that is used for phylogenetic reconstruction. The literature mentions that PV92 is located at chr16 and is part of an intron. However I can’t find anything on the exact location (bp number) on where PV92 is found on chr16 , I looked on NCBI and ensembl but didn’t manage to find the location of PV92.

Can you please point me to information on how to find the exact location of PV92, so that I can obtain the sequence?

  • $\begingroup$ Just use the primer sequences used in PCR experiments that check for inclusion of the Alu retrotransposon in the PV92 locus, such as described here. BLAST both of them, then align the corresponding forward and reverse strands. $\endgroup$
