In The Man without Qualities Robert Musil wrote (my emphasis):
"But the nature," he thought, "gives the man nipples and the woman a male gender rudiment. We cannot conclude from this, however, that our ancestors were hermaphrodites."
What male gender rudiment does he mean? It must be some "useless" body part in female body (like man's nipples).
