I heard during a class on morphogenesis that it is not possible to make any tissue grow in vitro. The example that was given was about epithelium, for which people are using cancerous cells.

Why is that ? And what are the types of tissues or cells that biologists make grow in vitro ?

A source for where you heard its not possible to grow every tissue in vitro would help. – John Oct 11 at 15:20
