I am curious about the advantages of using single primer in PCR.

I found this strategy in single cell sequencing method Smart-seq 2.

Smart-seq2 library preparation steps

Will it raise the yield of PCR? If so, Why?

Does anybody have any idea of it? Thanks a lot.
