I am quite unsure if I understand the concept of individual-based models(IBMS) in epidemiology. Is SIR model an example of IBMS?

$\begingroup$ Look at wikipedia articles: SIR and Agent Based models. The concept of ABM is a concept for numerical models, while SIR is a mathematical model. SIR in not an ABM. SIR-like models can however be simulated as ABM if one wants. $\endgroup$ – Remi.b Jul 11 at 13:53
