I can't understand why is there a need of 2 photosystems (2 interconnected pigment systems) to explain Emerson's enhancement. Could'nt it be possible that a single photosystem might have had a range from 660nm to 680nm where max absorption may take place. Please explain this inference. Can you also share some data(quantum yield) near the blue region.

Thanks

In particular, please clarify what you are asking and only ask a single question in each post. In addition, understanding posts should not require following links, so please upload the image if it is important to your question. ——— We also encourage you to do some research on your own and then, informed by what you have learned, ask any questions you still have (ideally with references to reliable sources). Thanks! 😊 $\endgroup$ – tyersome Jan 13 at 1:11
