At one of FB groups I have found the following figure: Table comparing different disinfection methods

As the efficiency of disinfection methods has been tested against E. coli, I wonder, how resistant SARS-CoV-2 is?

The (non peer-reviewed) paper claims:

and (emphasis mine):

Are there other sources confirming that informations?

  • $\begingroup$ SARS-CoV-2 particles are orders of magnitude smaller than E.coli. I would want to see data confirming the masks still work rather than extrapolating from E.coli. $\endgroup$ – James Mar 24 at 11:18

    $\begingroup$ @abukaj The article you linked measures the concentration of droplets between 0.02µm to 1µm using different mask types. SARS-CoV-2 particles are 0.05-0.15µm excluding the spikes. The droplet size should have been captured by the Portacount® devices. Assuming the masks work, these viruses represent the smallest measurable droplets, so just because mask integrity generally is maintained against something like E.coli we would need evidence that masks still have filtration of the smallest particles after cleaning. $\endgroup$ – James Mar 24 at 12:08
