As we know, in mitosis, after S phase each linear DNA molecule (associated with 1 chromatid), get doubled. These sister chromatids, in prophase and metaphase; are joined with a common centromeric region.

Now my question is, are they remain attached together (with cohesine condensine etc) from just the moment of replication? or the replication happens first and then the sister chromatids are recognised by some mechanism and thereby assembled together?
