I mean structural gene is a gene that codes for any RNA or protein product other than a regulatory factor, right ? But the attenuator also code for an mRNA itself to regulate the transcription. Then does it count as a structural gene ?

  • $\begingroup$ Please cite a definition of “structural” gene from a text or reputable source, rather than presenting your own definition followed by the irritating “right”. Wrong! Also cite the source of your statement that an attenuator encodes mRNA. We expect you to do your homework before posting. $\endgroup$ – David Oct 17 at 7:47
