I have learned that hair follicles become weaker or scarred after repeated plucking of hairs resulting in the hair growing weaker/deformed and eventually not growing at all.

Have there been done experiments to see how many times one needs to pluck an hair before it gives out?

I usually pluck my beard every 12 days, and I can see that it got fairer and a few patches of hair completely stopped growing but I don't remember when that happened.
