Can bugs like mosquitoes get astonished by sudden happenings?

**Background**

I missed hitting a mosquito on a wall with great force. However even though I missed hitting it, it was dead.

So I wonder if bugs can reach death or at least astonished by sudden happening, or lead to something like cardiac arrest.

Hope it isn't a noob question :)
