Insects are highly developed to respond to smell. The fruit fly, *Drosophila melanogaster*, has over 50 odorant-binding proteins which can be found [here](https://motif.mvls.gla.ac.uk/FlyAtlas2/index.html?search=group&groupID=FBgg0000175) and over 120 [chemoreceptors](https://motif.mvls.gla.ac.uk/FlyAtlas2/index.html?search=group&groupID=FBgg0000119), many of which are odorant-receptors. There is a link to the [FlyBase](https://www.flybase.org) entry for each gene where further information can be found.
