Being a tech-savvy and passionate ecologist, Sougata Sadhukhan is very keen to implement emerging technologies in wildlife conservation. His childhood curiosity about animal behaviour and communication drove him into the field of wildlife. After finishing his masters in Zoology from Calcutta University, he started his research career with WII in 2013. Soon he got the opportunity to research precisely his childhood inquisitive, animal communication. In 2017 He registered for the PhD titled “Understanding Wolf Howls and their application In Individual Identification and Population Estimation” from Forest Research Institute (Deemed to be) University, Dehradun. He is on his way to standardising a bioacoustics-based population estimation tool for the wolf. Sougata also has a three years diploma in photography.
