I would just emphasize that cellular life existed on Earth existed for at least a billion years before the evolution of photosynthesis. That's a long time for organisms to have refined the storage and utilization of organic molecules for energy. It makes a lot of sense that photosynthesis would evolve in a way that most efficiently feeds into these existing metabolic cycles. | |
