If, for some reason, you are less likely to raise a fit child, capable of competing and besting other males for mating rights, you would be better off having a female with a far more likely chance of reproductive success despite her overall lower level of fitness. In deed I believe studies have confirmed that there are slight variances such as this in many species. | |
