I study whale ecology, movement, and behavior using tags, passive acoustics, and visual survey data. I mainly focus on bowhead, blue, and humpback whales, but I have also worked with fin, gray, Bryde's, beaked, and sperm whales.
I have a PhD and MS in Oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography and an MSc in Marine Science from Moss Landing Marine Laboratories.
I am a contractor at NOAA’s PIFSC and a postdoctoral researcher at Oregon State University under the National Science Foundation Office of Polar Programs Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.
